I am sitting here while listening to a French C.D. playing in the background, dreaming of Paris, while cruising through current Facebook photos of friends on different trips in France. Then it hits me!!!!I am going in five weeks. This is a dream of my mine from the time I was 19 years old. For a person who loves fashion, food, art and history this is truly a dream come true.
Our sweet daughter Hannah surprised us with this trip for Christmas this past year. I could hardly believe it then and I still have trouble believing it now. Once my butt is on the plane with the seat belt fastened I know it will sink in.
While in Paris I am going to hit lots of flea markets. I will be looking for precious items to use in my denim creations. I wonder what I will find? I wonder what the story will be behind each piece will be? I feel the stirrings of excitement now about this trip…I can hardly wait to get there.
My Dear friend Ginette who is over there on vacation right now sent me these two images of some beautiful apron creations she saw. Did you know that aprons are a big thing over there.
A part of me wishes we had everyday planned so not to miss anything, another part of me is so happy that we will be flying by the seat of our pants. We do have a half day excursion scheduled to see, and one evening with a dinner cruise on the Seine. We may even take a full days trip and go to Luxembourg. All I know is that the excitement has now begun and I am so grateful to be going. In our next post I will be sharing the winner from the kimono give away. I will also be introducing a new line of kimonos I know you are going to love. The textiles in these kimono are straight from India and are a beautiful Kashmina/Silk blend.Next time I will share a bit about how I met the sweet Indian man who introduced me to this fabric. Until then please take care and enjoy each and everyday of this precious life we have been given. Tata for now,
