What gets your MoJo Going?
Sometimes it takes a little extra to get us going? It could be getting to the gym, going into the studio, writing copy or cleaning the house.
What helps me when my steam is running low and I just don’t feel like moving forward is to take a step back and remind myself of why I do what I do or why I desire this thing I am working towards.
The one thing I am focusing on not doing in these situations is beating myself up. Heaven knows I have done that enough in the past. Now I take stock, look back and see how far I have come. Sometimes just recognizing how far you have actually moved forward can help to keep you going.
Right now I am in a bit of a transition time and I am trying to implement getting up on time and following a well laid out schedule and plan, while allowing for life to take its natural ups, downs and curves along the way.
Today being Monday I am starting a new routine of heading off to McDonalds to get some desk work done. I get a booth and a large green tea and I am ready to go. They also have great wifi and their new coffee bar doesn’t look to bad either. It is a great way to start kick the week. It feels like a switch being turned on and sets me on the right track to tackle the tasks of the day and activities of the week and it signals to me that the work week has begun.
Another thing that helps me to stay focused and motivated is to fill in index cards. I do this the night before by listing my three top priorities of the day and then list three additional ones that I would like to get done.
Sometimes if I am struggling to get to Yoga, a new T-shirt for practice can get me back on my mat, or rewarding myself with a special treat or drink. What tricks or tips do you have?
